Katherine Mitchell

Katherine Penny Mitchell, who resides in Tulsa, is a transplant from Southern California and a retiree from Tulsa Community College (TCC) where she worked as a Student Services staff member and an adjunct professor teaching developmental writing courses. She earned a Master's degree in Business Management from Southern Nazarene University where she also teaches.

Ms. Mitchell pursued a desire to make jewelry and started a small business after completing jewelry making classes at TCC. This led to many selling opportunities through shows, private events, exhibits and local shops as well as commissioned work and curator assignments. Her company, Beads Please, LLC, offers a diverse collection of unique handcrafted pieces incorporating metals, wire, beads, gemstones, leather, and other natural materials obtained locally and globally.
